Well, so far one general manager and three managers have been fired because of the Astros’ sign stealing scandal. And we are still waiting for MLB to drop the hammer on the Red Sox for their sign stealing. It is funny to see the baseball media calling for the harshest possible penalties over all this. And they are predicting a fan backlash over sign stealing. Well speaking as Joe ordinary baseball fan, I am not bothered by this at all. I am far more bothered by the length of games, the lack of hitting (other than home runs) and the slow death of starting pitching. I used to buy all the media BS around the game, but the whole replay fiasco soured me on their coverage. They pounded the drum for replay and then roasted the process as soon as it began.

The questions we need to ask are “How many more teams were stealing signs?” and “How on Earth did the Astros ever think they would get away with it?”
This is baseball we are talking about, not life and death. The teams are swimming in cash, and the players are living a lifestyle we can only dream about. So keep watching the games, and let us hope that robo-umpires are a LONG way off in the future.
