I have always loved to travel. Our family often vacationed in Maine or Prince Edward Island. My first trip as an adult was to Toronto, Ontario, Canada (people in this part of the world often refer to it as “Tronna”). I was very impressed with the cleanliness of Toronto and the safety of its subway system. My brother and I took in several Blue Jays baseball games at old Exhibition Stadium which we greatly enjoyed. Watching baseball on a beautiful summer afternoon with a beer in one hand and a giant pretzel in the other is pretty great!
There are many other fun things to do in Toronto. I enjoy visiting the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum), people watching on Yonge Street after dark is quite eye-opening and the concert and bar scene is the best in Canada. When I first visited Toronto, the main highway (401) was SO much less congested than it is today. Once you passed the Yonge Street exit on the 401, it was smooth sailing all the way to Windsor. Nowadays, the 401 is packed day and night. I had a truck tire explode next to my car on the 401 last summer and it will be some time before I drive that road again!

Ontario is so different from my home province Nova Scotia. It almost feels more like the US than Canada. Nice place to visit but I wouldn’t want to live there. People living in urban areas don’t seem to understand how much better life is in small towns.
Today’s classic rock song is “Two Lane Blacktop” by Rob Zombie.
