Fantasy Baseball

As I mentioned earlier, I am part of the age group that hates change.  However I really like fantasy sports, especially baseball.  I never play for money because I never win when I gamble (former math teacher here!).  But running a fantasy baseball team keeps you involved through the season.  You need to adjust your roster every day, drop non-productive players and try to find players who are ready to breakout.  I love the numbers part of fantasy sports, but it is still fun even if you don’t obsess about every stat (like me).

I personally like Yahoo Fantasy Sports because it is easy to use and there is a minimum of trash talk.  I am in a head-to-head league this year for the first time.  Head-to-head is awesome in fantasy football, so I have high hopes.  Stand by for many, many updates.

I also want to plug USA Today Sports Weekly.  It used to be amazing, but gradually their baseball coverage has shrunk.  Still the best regular source of baseball news, although I am forced to read it online because it is an 8 hour drive for me to pick up a paper copy!  Also be sure to follow Bob Nightengale on Twitter, if only for the nutjobs that criticize every post he makes.

Today’s classic rock song is “Blue Highway” by Billy Idol.
