It has been a long time hasn’t it?

Well it’s been quite awhile since my last post.  You wouldn’t know it from all the spambot messages I am deleting.  Bring them on boys, I will never let ONE on my blog!

Baseball wrapped the 2022 season with another disappointing winner (Houston).  As a long time baseball fan. I always like the underdog, and was Philadelphia ever the underdog!  Seems wrong to cheer on a team with Bryce Harper, but the awesome Kyle Schwarber more than made up for it!

Let’s hope that the game will get faster next year with the pitch clock implemented.  The new shift rule should crank up offense too so that will be great.  The major league batting average was .243 in 2022, the lowest since1968! Runs scored in MLB were 20817, the lowest normal season total since 2014.  The number of strikeouts was 40812, the fourth highest in history.

What does all this mean?  It means the game is dying, and we have to put up with anything to get the game moving!  The three true outcomes (Strikeout, Home Run and Walk) are absolutely killing the game we love.

We are into the time of year where the big contracts start getting handed out.  I felt that Aaron Judge was massively overpaid, but I prefer players who have lots to say (Reggie Jackson for example).  Of course Bryce Harper has plenty to say and I would rather go to the dentist than watch him play, so what do I know?  Good luck wrapping up the Christmas shopping!
